Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 4-1
As bad as we were tonight we could have scored three goals ourselves. Feghouli should have got both late shots on target and did a Zaza in the first half when he held onto it too long when an earlier pass would have put us through. It's not just the lack of pressing, tackling and general poor passing but it's the incredibly bad decision making, both defensive and attacking that's costing us at both ends. Can't remember too many goals we have conceded this season where it wasn't a defensive mistake or a silly decision, and the same going forward where chances can be created but woefully bad decision making is costing us. But it's week after week and one wonders what they actually do on the training ground.

FROM a press cutting Quote

West Ham United have added star power to their forward line by signing Italy international striker Simone Zaza.
A strong, quick centre forward blessed with powerful aerial ability and a lethal left foot, Zaza arrives in east London after helping Juve win Serie A and featuring for his country at UEFA Euro 2016.

Unquote....

Unfortunately..we suspect Bilec was signalling to the rest of the team that this game was over...and he withdrew Payet to "save him " for the game against Arsenal....

Why Zaza has not clicked is beyond us / he was totally hyped up and has been really poor for us...His rush to exchange shirts was embarrassing .....

You are wasting your breath. Our manager is either stoned or deluded I'm not sure which and he has many disciples on here who think giving him more time will see a turn around. For a clever bloke he sure makes a hell of a lot of mistakes.

We've built a spineless soft bellied team that can play well when the going is good but doesn't have any guts when the going gets tough.
Too many foreign players, too many lightweight workshy players and a manager who hasn't figured out why the players he bought aren't performing and the why the ones that did last year now look like pub league players.

It's not so much the result that annoys me, it's the lack of fight and organisation that is evident.

As for those that are still bleating about Tomkins, he is gash which is evident in Crystal Palaces appalling form where he has been accountable for many of the goals recently. Laughable that people think he would have improved our defence even if he did want to stay (which he didn't.)

Had no chance once we lost Antonio and Cresswell. Had to go to a back 4 and lost all shape then.

Our midfield was overrun. Payet looks a shadow of himself last season. Piss-poor signings, injuries, morale rock bottom. Relegation form, and unless Ayeiw, Carroll and Sakho are back scoring soon, our second season at the OS will be played in the Championship.

The team that went and won 2-0 at the beginning of last season.

Adrian

Tomkins
Ogbonna
Winston Reid
Aaron Cresswell

Cheikhou Kouyate
Reece Oxford
Mark Noble
Dimitri Payet

Diafra Sakho
Mauro Zarate

We could have still had that back four (choose to sell Tomkins)

Bilic had the courage to trust a young Oxford, Bilice in defeat seems to be making wrong decisions under pressure.

and now injuries are blighting us.

Back to basics needed with an organised unit.

It was a poor team selection for a QF and a decent chance to get to a Cup Final.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 4-1
we should be playing 4 at the back, 3 in midfield and 2 in behind a single striker.

JUST LIKE WE DID LAST YEAR.

this current system plugged a hole in our defence by simply adding an addition player there. it did not solve the problem, it solved the consequence. the problem itself, early on in the season, was a complete lack of defending from the striker (zaza), which sakho provided us last year. in turn the midfield two (noble, kouyate) were covering for 3 players(lanzini, payet, zaza) who didnt track and hassle.

by going to 3 at the back, we put an extra body in a leaky area, and therefore compromised the midfield, where we are now extremely light. with the same front 3 who still don't track and hassle.

last year, when we had no right back, we use tomkins in a VERY disciplined role. he wouldn't attack much, but was solid defensively. antonio was thus given a lot of licence to attack. the other side, cresswell's athletic ability covered for the guy in front of him not always tracking back (payet or lanzini).

right now, we should be looking to play someone at right back in a back four. kouyate, oxford, or my choice, reece burke (recalled of course).

eg

Randolph
Burke Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
Obiang Kouyate
Lanzini
Antonio Payet
Sahko

or

Andrian
Kouyate Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
Obiang Noble
Lanzini
Antonio Payet
Sahko

we are going nowhere with this current 3 4 3 / 3 5 1 1 or whatever. cresswell has been negated, antonio cannot be bothered facing our goal, we end up sometimes with 6 at the back. that means that we are left with ONLY 4 players who are not in the back line to press the entire opposition. NEVER GOING TO WORK.

i'm ranting. so annoyed as its so damn obvious when you watch it. how the coach cant see it in his post match reviews i'll never know.

It did not help losing both wing backs. I hope it has not dented the team's confidence too much because we need points at home against Arsenal on Saturday.

The one good thing about tonight was Fletcher scoring his 1st goal for us, which should be a confidence booster for him

The rest was just too depressing for words

Changes need to be made & soon

so obvious we have a right sided defensive hole the cameraman didn't need to pan round to the other side of the pitch for the first half

Do we accept that Bilic wanted to pay £13m for Tore & £25m for Zaza?
That's not going to help him if the Dildo's are looking in the office drawer for a P45

As far as I can tell that was absolutely Bilic's call in the Summer, just to be clear on that. The club were clearly looking at many right-backs, but Bilic said he wanted to use Antonio there. It was only late in the window that Sullivan called a halt to that and punted on Arbeloa.

Fucking wankers. Quarter-final?! Fuck off you prideless cunts.
